Distribution Box Needs Septic Repair in Westport, MA

septic systemAll Clear Septic and Wastewater Services have extensive experience in the field of septic systems and as a result of this experience and the excellent reputation we have in the region we are often called out for septic system repairs. Today we have a distribution box repair scheduled in Westport MA.

A conventional septic system consists of a septic tank, a distribution box and a drainfield, all connected by pipes, called conveyance lines.

Your septic system treats your household wastewater by temporarily holding it in the septic tank where heavy solids and lighter scum are allowed to separate from the wastewater. This separation process is known as primary treatment. The solids stored in the tank are decomposed by bacteria and later removed, along with the lighter scum, by a professional septic tank pumper.

After partially treated wastewater leaves the tank, it flows into a distribution box, which separates this flow evenly into a network of drainfield trenches. Drainage holes at the bottom of each line allow the wastewater to drain into gravel trenches for temporary storage. This effluent then slowly seeps into the subsurface soil where it is further treated and purified (secondary treatment). A properly functioning septic system does not pollute the groundwater.

Your entire system must be working correctly for your septic system to do its job so if just one part is malfunctioning you need to have it repaired.

If you think you may have a septic septic problem and either need to discuss your concerns with one of our staff or schedule an appointment please do contact our Norton Office in 508-763-4431 or visit www.allclearseptic.com

It Might Be Time For Septic Pumping If Your System Has Not Had A Pump Out In The Last Three Years

All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services understand that many people had friends and family visit for the holidays and other people had large parties at their homes. The holidays are a wonderful time of year to catch up with people and eat good food but once everyone has returned home it is time for cleaning up and getting back to normal routines. What many people will not consider is that over the holidays if you have lots of guests staying in your home for an extend period of time or a large party your septic system will have been working harder than usual and if you have a small system or you have not had septing pumping recently it may be time for a septic pump out. Regular pumping helps prevent solids from escaping into the drainfield and clogging soil pores. While pumping frequency depends on the various factors including the size of your tank and the use it gets it is recommended that systems be pumped at least once every three years for homes not having a garbage disposal. If the home’s system has a garbage disposal, it should be pumped annually. Today we have septic pumping scheduled in Uxbridge, Bellingham, Blackstone, Franklin and Upton MA. If you are unsure if you need septic pumping or if you have questions about your septic system or want to schedule a pump out please do contact our Norton Office on 508-763-4431 or visit http://www.allclearseptic.com

Condominium Septic Systems Should Have Septic Inspections Once Every 3 Years

All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services  wishes everyone a very happy 2018! This year promises to be even more successful than the last and we are already very busy with septic appointments for our customers. Today we have Title 5 Septic Inspections scheduled for customers in Hingham, Scituate, Hanover, Marshfield and Hanson MA. Most of our septic inspections are required because a property owner is selling a home or business that has a septic system and is not on town sewer. However today we are also doing a Title 5 Inspection for a Condominium Association who are not selling a property. This is because Condos with more than 5 units must have an inspection every 3 years. As stated on Mas Gov:

“The condominium association is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and upgrade of the system or systems serving the units, unless the association’s governing documents provide otherwise.

Condominium systems should be inspected once every 3 years. Condominium developments with 4 or fewer units should also have their system inspected every 3 years, or within 2 years prior to the sale of one of the units.”

For more information see https://www.mass.gov/guides/buying-or-selling-property-with-a-septic-system

If you need a Title 5 Septic Inspection for any reason or have questions about septic system please do contact our Norton Office on 508-763-4431 or visit http://www.allclearseptic.com

Wishing Everyone A Very Merry Christmas from All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services!

Happy Christmas

All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services wants to wish everyone Happy Christmas for Monday! We are all looking forward to celebrating with our friends and family. Of course nobody wants to be concerned about their septic systems over the holidays but it’s a good idea to be conscious of your water usage. For example when you have a septic system and are not on town sewer it is recommended to spread laundry loads out over a week rather than do multiple loads on one day which can overload your system. In the same vein try to spread out bath and showers, especially if you have a lot of visitors. If your septic system is designed and sized for a small family but it multiples in size at holidays just try to be aware of your water usage to prevent problems occurring. Happy Holidays from the All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services Team!
