All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services know that many properties in Massachusetts are serviced by septic systems because they are not on town sewer. As you would expect many of these properties are in remote areas of the state where the closest ‘town’ is not that close at all. However what is perhaps surprising are the number of properties that are not remotely located but are also on a septic system to process their waste. Septic systems provide simple, effective onsite wastewater treatment. They allow wastewater to be processed onsite and treat the effluent naturally and allow water to seep into the ground. If properly installed and maintained individual septic systems offer Massachusetts property owners many environmental benefits in this beautiful state. However you do need to ensure that your septic system is maintained and is working correctly. If you are unsure if your system is working as it should you can arrange for a voluntary assessment of your septic system or if you are selling or buying a property with a septic system you will have a septic inspection to advise you of the current condition of the system and if there are any concerns. Today we have septic inspections scheduled in Holliston, Millis, Bellingham, Franklin, Foxboro, Mansfield and Sharon Massachusetts. If you require a septic inspection or if you have any questions about septic inspections or septic systems please do contact our Norton office on 508-763-4431 or visit http://allclearseptic.com/education/
All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services have been called out to a customer property in Attleboro MA to provide septic cleaning and pumping. Septic pumping will remove all of the sludge from the property’s septic tank which can not be processed like the liquid waste is. However septic cleaning takes the pumping one step further and ensures that their septic system is not just pumped but it is also cleaned. We utilize specialized miniature equipment to locate specific areas of their system, such as a sewer cam which is used to investigate the inside of the sewer lines, and jetting equipment to clean the pipes within the leach field. When you have your septic system cleaned and pumped you are improving the efficiency of your system and making sure that it will keep running smoothly until your next pump out is due. Septic pumping is usually required every 3-5 years but this can vary depending on a variety of factors such as the size of the tank and the amount of wastewater that is being processed. If you have a garbage disposal you will need a septic pump out annually. Today we have additional septic cleaning and septic pumping appointments in Mansfield, Sharon, Stoughton, Canton and West Bridgewater MA. If you own a septic system, it is important that it is properly maintained. The most important septic system maintenance is having your septic system pumped. How often you need to pump the solids out of your septic tank depends on factors including:
- the number of people in your household
- the amount of wastewater generated (based on the number of people in the household and the amount of water used)
- the volume of solids in the wastewater (e.g., using a garbage disposal will increase the amount of solids)
- the size of your septic tank
Generally you should have your septic system pumped every 3-5 years but the above factors can dramatically change this. For example is you have, and use, a garbage disposal your system will need to be pumped annually. Today we have septic pumping scheduled in Attleboro, Bellingham, Foxboro, Mansfield, Franklin and North Attleboro MA. All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services not only inspects septic systems and repairs septic systems but also provides essential septic system maintenance – perhaps most importantly septic pumping. Septic Systems must be pumped periodically to remain operating correctly. Even if your system seems to be working correctly you do not want to wait it until it shows evidence of septic problems before you choose to pump your system. By then you could have a large septic problem which may require an expensive septic repair whereas staying on top of your septic pumping schedule will ensure that you are doing the most important part of maintaining your septic system. Septic systems do not need to be pumped that often, if fact if you pump too often you can harm your septic system by removing the beneficial bacteria that is required to process your waste. A properly maintained septic system should only be pumped every 2-5 years, as needed, to avoid removing the “good” bacteria and keep the system running smoothly. You only need to have your system pumped annually if you have a garbage disposal. Today we have septic pumping appointments in Bridgewater, Canton, Middleboro, Mansfield, Stoughton and Raynham MA. If it has been over three years since you had your septic tank pumped, give All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services a call at our Norton office on 508-763-4431 for an evaluation and to set up quick and easy pumping arrangements.
All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services have been contacted by a client in North Attleboro who suspects that they have a leach field problem. They have noticed a sewage smell in their yard around the leach field area and there is a consistent wet, sogginess on the field. Other signs that you may have a problem can include lush vegetation over the leach field, frequent pumping of the tank being required, and/or slow drains.
Leach fields fail for two primary reasons. The main reason is referred to as biological clogging. This is the development of a biomat beneath the drainfield that eventually prevents the liquid or effluent from entering the underlying soil. This biomat is a combination of fine organic solids that have been carried out of the septic tank and the remnants of anaerobic bacteria. These bacteria originate in the human intestinal tract and enter the septic system with the waste products. 95% of all leach field failures are biological. The second primary reason is referred to as a mechanical failure. This could be a structural collapse of the leach field piping or chambers, root intrusion, or fine non-organic materials that are washed down to the bottom of the leach field and seal the soil.

All Clear Septic and Wastewater Services not only repairs, services and inspects septic systems but we also carry out the essential septic maintenance that is always required for your septic system – PUMPING. Regular pumping helps to prevent solids from escaping into your drainfield and clogging the soil. Normally a properly designed septic system has enough space for 3-5 years accumulation of sludge waste. Once waste reaches this point waste has less time to properly settle before leaving the tank into your leach field. This means that more solid waste will get into your leach field. As this becomes clogged liquid waste will not absorb at the rate which it enters the tank so plumbing can backup and waste will reach the surface. To avoid this unpleasant and expensive consequence of neglecting maintenance it is always a good idea to have your septic tank pumped every 3 – 5 years. If you have a garbage disposal you will need to have your septic tank pumped annually. The regularity that you have your system pumped will vary depending on various factors including the size of your septic tank and your water usage. For example a restaurant will need to have its septic pumped more regularly that a summer cottage which is only used in the warmer months. If you are unsure or have any questions please do contact our office where we will be happy to answer any questions that you have. Today we have septic pumping scheduled for property owners in Wrentham, Franklin, Foxboro, Mansfield and Sharon MA.
